How to choose asafe student truck
30 questions and tips you can use – whichever company you book with. Tick them off as you go, or print the list and bring it to the truck committee.
Before you book a student truck
The rules set a minimum – ask about the rest
The graduation drive (studenterkørsel) is one of the biggest days in a young person’s life – and one of the few times young people ride on the back of a truck. The law sets requirements for inspection, insurance and fittings, but it does not, for example, require a roof on the truck.
Use the list when the class collects quotes. A serious company is happy to answer every question and to show you the documents when you ask.
Last updated October 2026. Based on Danish executive order no. 1322 on graduation drives.
01 · Legal requirements
The legal requirements – ask to see the documents
This is what the law requires of every student truck. The section numbers refer to the executive order.

02 · The truck
The truck – beyond the minimum
The law does not require these things. But they make all the difference when a whole class of partying graduates dances on the truck for hours.

03 · The company
The company behind the truck
There are examples of classes left without a truck because it never turned up or broke down. Ask what happens if something goes wrong.

04 · The route and the day
The route and the day itself
A good plan keeps both the graduates and the families relaxed.
05 · The student
Talk to your graduate before the day
Every year the police warn graduates not to lean out of the truck. Go through the rules at home – so your graduate knows them before the party starts.

Why the checklist matters
Every year classes are left without a student truck
We recommend that you look into and compare the points in the checklist. They are here to help you book a student truck with confidence and look forward to the big day when you are celebrated on the roads and in the streets of Denmark.

calls in 2026 from students who had been let down
Every year we hear from frustrated and deeply unhappy students who call us because the student truck they booked never turned up – for a variety of reasons. It is so tragic for young people who should be having an unforgettable day that they will talk about and remember for many years to come.
Involve your parents
Remember to involve some parents so they can support you before you make the big decision of booking a student truck from the right company.
Ask every company the questions
Print the checklist and bring it to the truck committee. If you are unsure which company to choose, the answers can help you make the right decision.
Questions and answers
The trucks, safety and equipment
Questions you can ask any company – and EventTrucks’ own answers.
How many student trucks does the company have?
We have 20 student trucks.
When does the company have its student trucks inspected?
Our student trucks are inspected in May/June, so we know they are in good order, the brakes work and so on. This gives you and your families peace of mind that our trucks have just passed their inspection and are mechanically sound.
Do the company’s student trucks have a roof? Can the sides be rolled down if it rains?
Our student trucks always have a roof, for these two reasons:
- When the sun is shining, it is cooler for you under the roof. If it rains, you won’t get wet – and we can roll the sides down!
- Our driver knows how tall the student truck is. Without a roof you could stand on the table, and that can lead to a serious accident. Sadly, that happened in 2025, when 3 young people suffered serious head injuries!
Has the company gone the extra mile for safety on its student trucks?
We have the safest student trucks in the country. Our trucks are built in steel, so you can party with peace of mind without falling off.
Among other things, our trucks have the following, none of which is a legal requirement:
- Non-slip stairs
- Railings
- Bars along the sides with 20 cm gaps
- An emergency exit
- 6 kg powder fire extinguishers
Does the company offer draught beer if you book with them?
That is illegal for every company, as it requires an alcohol licence.
A draught beer system is available as an add-on on our student trucks. The class must bring its own keg of beer.
Questions and answers
Prices, payment and a reputable company
How much does a student truck cost?
It varies from company to company. Some offer trucks from DKK 12,500 up to around DKK 70,000.
Our student trucks cost from DKK 20,000, however many students there are in your class. Our student trucks are the best on the market for the price!
Why doesn’t a company show its prices on its website?
We can’t speak for other companies. But we think it is important that you can see what you will pay for what you want to buy. That is why we show our prices on our website.
Why does a truck with a sound box and wooden benches cost more than ours?
We can’t answer that. But of course we want to give you a better truck with better sound and the highest level of safety, which should give your class a better experience.
Does the company want to be paid in cash for your graduation drive?
We do NOT accept cash. Our company pays our drivers a proper wage plus holiday pay, as the law requires, and we have insurance covering the students and our drivers.
If a company wants cash, remember to get a receipt/invoice for the amount.
Does the company have a CVR number and publish its accounts?
We have a CVR number (Danish company registration number) and publish our accounts. In 2022 we made a loss because we built 3 new student trucks and bought a competitor. By 2024 we were back in profit.
Can you find anything negative about the company on Google and social media?
Try searching for the name of the company you are thinking of booking with.
Can you trust Trustpilot?
Some companies have bad reviews removed from Trustpilot. So if you want to see whether they get bad feedback, keep an eye on them during graduation week, as companies can have bad reviews removed 3 days after receiving them.
